President Trump warned North Korea that every threat to the US would be met with ‘fire’ and ‘fury.’ North Korea has threatened to attack the US protectorate of Guam to contain the US bases there.
“Such military maneuvers of the U.S. may provoke a dangerous conflict under the present extremely acute situation prevailing on the Korean peninsula,” said Korean officials through their official state-run media news agency.
North Korea has said that US bombers from Guam travel over the skies over South Korea “openly stage actual war drills and muscle-flexing in a bid to strike the strategic bases of the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea].”
It is very clear at this time, that the US and South Korea practice joint military exercises often.
North Korea has said that the U.S. should ‘immediately stop its reckless military provocation against the state of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea so that the latter would not be forced to make an unavoidable military choice.’
However, the US officials responded to their threat. Madeleine Z. Bordallo, the non-voting U.S. Rep. from Guam, said the attack reports are troubling but she wrote that she is very confident that Guam will remain safe and protected.
In response to the warning by North Korea, the US Pacific Air Forces gave North Korea a special surprise as they responded with a tweet stating they were ready. They stated they’ve joined their counterparts from North Korea and Japanese air forces in sequenced bilateral missions.
